So basically I've told this story many times in the past week but I'm still really pissed.

About two months ago I put Foxy, 6 year old mare, up for lease. She was just sitting there in the pasture and my mother and I couldn't afford to do anything with her this summer. Anyway after only a few weeks my mom sets up an appointment to meet with some potential leasers. Originally we wanted to lease Toughy our old man to them.

These people wanted a horse to learn to ride on. My mom made an appointment to have them come up on a day I was not at home, thinking we wouldn't consider Foxy in this deal. Well turns out Toughy goes lame while these people are trying him out.

The potential leasers are a couple hopeing to learn to ride form their daughter. Anyway I'm not present because of a show and they tryout my horse. Pissed that I wasn't there when these people rode my horse my mother had to reasure me how much she liked these people and how good she felt about them.

Anyway they decide to go through and lease my horse. I go with my mom to see the place they plan on keeping my horse this is also the first time I meet the girl who is to teach her parents how to ride on my horse.

Let me just say that I had some resevations about my young horse being used as a lesson horse but I really like the girl she's about my age which was suprising but I felt comfortable with her.

This is were everything goes crazy so just bare with me. From this point on let us refer to the leassors as M and the owners of the stables they are keeping my horse at as L.

So the stable M is keeping my horse at is her boy friends' parent's stable a private stable for their horses alone. The stable owners, L, agreed to board my horse throughout the duration of the lease.

Now let me state my condition for the lease:
1. The owners pay shoeing and regular vet bills in exchange for riding the horse on occassion. (meaning like once every two weeks)


This is the most basic condition I had and it was agreed upon, L, knew the condition and accepted giving me a release form to sign my life away in the event of an accident on L's property. I met with L and was shown the basic rules of the barn as thier barn also doubles as a dog boarding facilty.

I rode my horse and left. Feeling really good about the arrangement I relaxed...

A week later we find out that M has taken the liberty of using my horse for horse camp, with little kids like 5 years of age and I wasn't informed about this development until after the fact. If I was pissed that my horse was to leased as a lesson horse imagine my feelings now. Lesson horse is one of the worst jobs a horse can have. Every day a new person rides them and every day bad habits are formed. I have a produce of the lesson horse career in my front yard. And my six year old wonderfully trained, responsive mare is to be thrust into this world of lesson horse! Yes I was furious. My mother tried to tell me that atleast shes getting out and thats what we wanted and it wasn't a big deal. I went to visit my mare that week just as horse camp was ending. A little four year old boy not even the hieght of my waist was grooming Foxy as she stood there falling asleep. All the kids had pictures of themselves riding Foxy on thier camp tee shirt. After seeing this and hearing form M, the sort of things they were doing with her and that she was being ridden in a halter to perserve her sensitive mouth I was at ease. In fact to tell the truth I was extremly proud of my horse.

I took for a trail ride which is another adventure in itself and worthy of its own journal, I put my horse away careful to clean up after myself and follow the rules of the barn.

The next day I come home form work. My mother got an email, L is uncomfortable with me on her property. The very same L that in fact was making money off of my horse in her Horse Camp. The very L who knew my conditions and accepted that I would be riding on occasions.

That was two weeks ago, I have ridden my horse all of two times since she's been leased and the second time I rode I didn't even ride on L's property I went across the street.

So now I can't see my horse who is mine not the leassors who apparently have more right to my horse than I do and the damn horse thrown her back out agian. They have been leasing Foxy all of a month and a half and my horse has thrown her back out twice, I have ridden her twice and know I can't see her!

Let me make this clear I am not mad at the leasors for they are just as dumb struck as I am. I'm pissed at L how used my horse to make money and know denies me the right to see MY HORSE!!!

I'm so frustrated about the whole thing. I want to see my horse if only to spend an hour grooming her (thats all I can do with her back out. I told my mom to send L a message saying that I want to see MY HORSE and if they really don't trust me they can supervise me as I spend time with MY HORSE NOT THEIR'S! And what frustrates me even more is that my mom says I can't say that and she will not go some where that she's not welcome. Which is all fine and good if they DIDN'T HAVE MY HORSE!!!! I don't give a damn if they don't want me on their property so long as they have my horse I have every right to spend time with MY PROPERTY! I hate talking about Foxy that way but it's true. If they were so against the idea of a stranger riding her horse on their property they should not have agreed to stable her.

I could understand if I had left the property a mess (at which point they should have told me but they just said your not allowed) or if I did something illegal on the property but I didn't!

I've told all my coworkers who have horses and I happen to agree that until my horse finds another residence than the one she is at I should be able to see her or she comes home.

I had little say in this process having to listen to everything second hand from my mom and having to make my decissions after the fact on second hand info...I'm really pissed, I do pay for my share of the fucking horse and I don't get any say in what happens.

Anyway, this actually didn't help me at all I'm more pissed than I when I started writing. But there isn't anything I can do! At this point the story is so long and complex that I don't think anyone will understand what went on and it doesn't get me any closer to my horse. everyone at work has heard the story many times cause you all know how oppessive I can get over things. I make my coworkers angry with the story, I have one coworker who looks like shes going to kill something every time its mentioned and wish I could take her advice but my mom won't bite. It's not fair to my coworkers that I get them all tense when this is my problem, but I have no other outlet for my frustrations.
